Latin America will play a key role in Spanish IT firm Sadiel's plan to export services, and Chile is the first priority for the company's expansion plan, Sadiel e-learning manager Sergio Gómez told BNamericas.
"The first focus is Chile as it's the country within Latin America that has a great level of stability and IT development, and where we believe our experience and services can contribute to the development of the private and public sectors," he said.
As part of its internationalization project, Sadiel is working along with the Andalucía government export promotion agency, Extenda, Sadiel said in a statement. Extenda has recommended the company focus on Chile, Brazil and Colombia in Latin America, and Poland and Romania in Europe.
According to Extenda, the main competitive advantages for Sadiel to expand outside Spain are its knowledge of business processes in specific vertical segments - particularly in the public sector and utilities - and its financial stability.
Sadiel's main shareholders are the municipality of Andalucía and power company Endesa, Spanish bank Cajasol and compatriot IT company Indra.
Gómez, who spoke on the sidelines of a telecontrol workshop organized by Chilean IT solutions provider Synapsis, said the company is taking advantage of Endesa's stake to sign alliances with other firms such as Synapsis, which also forms part of the power group.
Sadiel expects international sales to represent 10% of its total revenues by 2012. Revenues surpassed 83mn euros (US$105mn) in 2007, according to the statement.
